Initially conceived as a test piece, shot to explore the process of Platinum Printing, these portraits took on a life of their own and developed into a set of images that I hope convey a timeless sense of peace and beauty. Many, many years ago a photographic portrait was something to be treasured. The process of having your photograph taken was an incredibly important event. These days the process is now run-of-the-mill, the resulting images are disposable. This body of work represents my initial attempts at turning the clock back.
